Athletic And Healthy – Other Reasons Why You Should Use A Protein Supplement

Best Protein Supplement IS NOT Whey

I would like to introduce this article by enunciating that I will attack the use of a protein supplement from a divergent point of view than the ussual: “let’s make a lot of muscle mass”. While bodybuilders are clearly accountable for the debut of protein supplements into mainstream consumption they have used it for a single minded purpose. I am here to show you some other things you might not recognise.

Firstly I would like you to understand that the primary cause a protein supplement is so efficient at building muscular tissue is that it  promotes good health. Think of it this way, muscle tissue is a highly metabolically active tissue which has a lot of intake attached  to its existence. Essentially this means that you have to be at least marginally healthy to put on any kind of muscle. Think about  the last time you were bedridden, were you able to work out? What if you had a low level of health, do you believe you would be able to  pack on as much muscle as the healthier guys.

A little sidenote, I am of the opinion that body builders (especially pro’s) are far from healthy people. I believe that the stress that they bring down upon their body will lead to many troubles down the road. However, I do consider that there are many things that can be taken from this profession (healthwise speaking) and one of these is that a protein supplement can help athletic and health goals that go beyond making lean muscle mass.

I wish us to be on the same page so I would like to point out that in this article I am focusing on the other benefits that come from using a protein supplement.

Let’s get started:

Protein is THE macro nutrient as far as your body is concerned. Some of the roles that protein has are:

*structural (colagen for instance is the most widely represented protein in the body and it makes your face look smooth and wrinkle free and it keeps other parts of your body from sagging)
*creating hormones (hormones are critical for your body for a variety of reasons, will be further elaborated upon)
*IGF-1 and Growth Hormone regularization (these hormones are crucial for the upkeep of health)
*stimulating anabolism (protein is an constructive-metabolic macro nutrient, this means that it induces growth and suppresses tissue breakdown)
*metabolism (is fostered through many routes, from hormone modulation, to neurotransmiter buildup and even through the fact that protein is tougher to digest and therefore demands of your metabolism to increase its production of energy)
*modulates satiety (besides helping you loose weight by making you not eat as much, you also get the valuable benefit of reducing your cravings)
*bettering insulin sensitivity (this is merely because neither fat, nor protein induces the release of insulin – except in very early quantities)
*it can aid you get thin by raising the calorie per centum of your diet that is derived from protein

A protein supplement, let me reword that, a quality protein supplement used every day with the objective of raising the total percentage of your calories that is derived from protein is one of the simplest and most efficient ways to positivily influence your health.

One matter that you have to see is that things like hormone regulation and metabolic processes stimulation translate into many other gains.

Just to sum up

As well as building and maintaing lean tissue mass (which has umpteen benefits in and of itself), you will discover things like improved memory, improved reflexes and reinforced athlectic ability.

It also makes you look great. Imagine healthy looking skin, a trim body, a radiant face and a smile for everyone (hey, if you’re  feeling good you do feel like smiling).

Protein also makes your nervous system function more efficiently. It causes this by helping you construct neurotransmiters and hormones.  Hormones such as human growth hormone increase bone density, muscle masss, metabolism and even affects psychological factors.

To review, this article has discussed some of the other improvements that high quality protein and a protein supplement can bring into your life.
